EXPERIENCED PLANT OPERATIVE to join our Operations Team in Wisbech.

In addition to the sale of aggregates our Wisbech site also operates as a Waste Transfer Station processing waste into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). This is an interesting, environmentally friendly concept in making good use of waste to produce electricity, which otherwise might have ended up in landfill.

We are looking for a self motivated individual who is organised, dependable and prepared to work outside in all weathers.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient running of static and mobile plant within an aggregate depot and waste transfer environment, undertaking technical and operational duties, which will include plant monitoring and maintenance to ensure maximum plant availability and performance.

Reporting to the site manager, you will be required to take instruction and operate in a flexible manner to ensure the site achieves safety & operational targets.  You will also have a good level of general education and be safety conscious.

Candidates will have experience of:

  • Operating a 360° Excavator and Telehandler (ideally holding a valid competency card).
  • Working within the waste industry
  • Operating a computerised weighbridge would also be beneficial.

Indicative hours of work: 7am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid break (Monday to Friday).  Additional hours as required.

Salary: Competitive depending on level of experience (Monthly Paid)
